Every trip gives her new ideas for characters and plots for her books. She has packed her suitcase many times and has been lucky enough to travel to such places as Morocco, Lebanon, England, Mauritius, France, Italy, and of course throughout Canada and the U.S.A. When she was younger she was also a competitive rider. She worked and lived in Montreal and Ottawa penning advertising and marketing copy for various business, and until a few years ago she owned horses, ponies and a very silly donkey. Boats go through the locks right outside her door, deer invade her garden and friends drop in and interrupt her weeding and writing efforts. Her house is full of history, dates back to the turn of the century and is complete with wonky floors and misshapen windows and doors. Davis lives in a small hamlet on the picturesque Rideau Canal in Ontario, Canada.
